《Frankenstein - 科学怪人 (英文原版)》读后感100字

The major character of this story is Victor Frankenstein, he is so curious about the mysteries of life even when he was a little child, he craved to explore unknown powers, and unfold to the world the deepest mysteries of creation. He has read lots of books to find out the truth of nature, and his thoughts were deeply  influenced by the books he had read. He was so smart and sensible to the changes of the nature, he found the power of electricity when he saw a thunder hit a tree and then that tree got burned. And then he went abroad(Bavaria) to continue his further research, he learned a lot from Professor Waldmen , he decided to change the directions of his research towards natural philosophy, and particularly chemistry, he worked day and night without regular rest and emotion, he was indulged in his research which he tried to create a new life. He has observed the natural decay and corruption of the human body, he used the organs of the dead body as raw materials to create a new life, and he sew them up, and hit them with high intensity of current. Finally he did succeeded, he had successfully created a new life, a monster. The monster was ugly and stronger than human bengs, he hated him the first sight the monster opened his eyes, and he abandoned the monster. Victor was buried in his remorse and guilty that he doubted the reasons why he had created such a monster, which was quite absurd!

Cause the monster was ugly and fierce upon his appearance, people attacked and destested him even if he didn’t mean to hurt anyone at first. He has learned how to speak, how to think and act like human beings from a cottage french family, he appreciated the good value and love of human beings, he had suffered a lot from loneliness, he yearned to a intimate friend of the cottage family, he was afraid that he would scare them , but he thought maybe they would admire his good virture despite his appearance, but unfortuately he failed, he did scared the son, Felix, and he fired at him and shunned him. He was in grief and desperation, he showed kindness to human beings , he helped them, all he want is love and care, but human beings hate him and broken his heart, he decided to revenge, cause his creator had gave birth to him but abandoned him.

He then killed Victor’s brother William, his friend Clerval, frame his servant Justine. Both of the monster and VIctor had suffered a lot from misery、agony、grief and despondency. “Everyone has a mate.” The monster was weary about being alone and being prejudiced. He retreated his creator to create another female creature alike, Victor was afraid that he would create a more powerful monster which would be a disaster to human beings, so he destroyed his half-made creature, he had broken his promise, the monster was overwhelmed by rage and grief, he murdered Victor’s wife, Elizabeth, on his wedding night. Victor vowed to revenge for the victims, he deadly chased the monster all over the world, at length he died of exhaustion and desperation, the monster had regretted everything he had done, he was immersed in guilt and remorse, he committed suicide at the end.

After reading the fiction, I find Victor is a coward, he was only sunk into his own feelings, he is deadly fearful and despared, despite of the peril of his family and friends, he did nothing to stop the monster to murder them, he even tried to flee from the monster and his agony. He is passionate, clever and studious but without responsibility and resolution. He worked so hard to create to a new life, though he detested the hideous appearance of the monster, it had been existed, he chose to escape from everything and abandoned him which lead to his revenge.

It reminds me of the relations between parents and children, they have had given the birth to their children, they have the responsibility to nourish them in a good environment and set a good model for them. It is proved that the growth environment has a immeasurable influence upon the children. And as for us, we should be grateful to the people who are kind to us, try not to incur resentment.
