《Late Autumn》读后感_100字

《Late Autumn》读后感100字

20+ coins, it seems a little expensive to buy this small book, which was written to help alleviate the sadness and emotional turmoil the author was experiencing at that time. 7+ hours have been spent finishing it!

Ruth, more than 70 years old woman, in the late autumn of her life, fell in love with a married man, one of her old school chums.

Life had not been easy since her husband’s died. Lonely silence and empty life wrapped around her. She was usually sad and vulnerable. After meeting Bill, Ruth felt there could be a light at the end of the tunnel. They called every night, reminiscing their old days and talking of their lovely life stories. She trusted him. She believed all words and all promises he had made. But it is miserable that their relationship must be secured, which, in fact, means a nightmare to Ruth. At the end of the story, the man left her and their relationship died. She has no answers to his leaving, perhaps for health, possessions or the comfort zone of his family. But it is sure that Bill has taken the easy way out, and he would lose nothing. As for Ruth, here no joy can be found. It seems so much confusion and distress make sense of in her life, and the emptiness of life become more evident. Maybe there are some regrets, but Ruth has learned to forgive everything.

I believe it is unforgettable for the author with such trauma in the twilight years of her life. It is also regrettable that she tried to bring the past life to an unknown future. But it all depends on. As author said, Who knows what life has in store?

It is so special in ones life at the age of seventy, especially when your life partner left and you have to be alone at the rest of lifetime forever. Though there are children and old friends, but they are not always the answer. Well, loneliness is quite normal in ones life. Trying to enjoy it is not so bad. Age of sixty and seventy is actually the second golden youth. one can begin his retirement, free from the burden of the boring routines he used to bear, and rely on his old-age pension for a living. You have enough time to do whatever you want, and there are a great many of options like reading, writing, painting, gardening and traveling . I believe more splendid views may be found in old age!

Extracted from the passage: It changes your life forever to become close to someone who appears to care for you, and then to discover that, perhaps that person is not at all what you thought him to be.…
